At Dan Alexander & Co., we guided the restaurant since its inception, creating their complete design concept, coupled by a groundbreaking strategic approach. Inspired by the raw energy of fire and the dynamic lifestyle of a bustling city, we developed Kukuriku’s visual language based on handmade crafts and organic shapes, both bold and filled with humor.
A great king once demanded the perfect picture of a rooster. Artists nationwide tried, but only one painter from nowhere drew the most royal rooster ever – with a single brushstroke. “So perfect, so quickly?!” raged the king, “Off with his head!” Later they found hundreds and thousands of rooster sketches in his studio, which he made in an endless effort for that singular rooster.
Of all the happy hens we drew for renowned chef Ran Shmueli, it’s this particular chicken that made us all fall in love. So we named her Kukuriku, and filled up the entire space around her with farm-life scenes and some veggies.
Basing Kukuriku’s visual language on handmade crafts and organic shapes, we created a visual language that is both bold and filled with humor, applying it to the printed materials, walls, website, and packages. Now, all that’s left to do is hop over to Kukuriku for a peck of good taste, starting first in Tel Aviv, and soon also in Paris and New York.
