Sweet Fantasy Brothers (SFB) is a true story of two young brothers who wanted to help their single mother make ends meet. They bought a small ice cream machine and began whipping up cool treats to sell around town in their little red ice cream cart. Fast forward three decades later, the two brothers now lead Sweet Fantasy Brothers (SFB), a global manufacturer of ready-to-use products for the gelato industry. They bring the magic of sweet treats to millions of people worldwide with flavors that make you jump.
Ice cream, as we know it today, is the story of 19th-century immigrants who tried their luck in new countries, such as the UK and the USA, making gelato in their small kitchens to sell out on the street in colorful ice cream carts. They would sing a happy tune, “Hokey pokey, penny a lump. Have a lick, make you jump!”, which inspired our slogan “Flavors that make your jump!” for SFB, the global company now led by the two brothers who also had their start in a tiny kitchen, where they dreamed big and have come so far since.
The sweet success of SFB is a story of family love and endless courage to dare to dream. The two brothers balance each other like circus acrobats, playing tricks with flavors and flair that put a rainbow in people’s hearts.
Our work included strategy, branding, name, logo, visual language, and video. The narrative we created delivers the magical energy of the carnival, with its funfair and delight, just like ice cream. We played with polarities found only in gelato, mixing hot with cold, linking science with the senses, and connecting technology with humanity. Inspired by the dynamic energy radiating from vintage circus posters and the movement that they convey in 2D, we developed an illustrative visual language filled with motion and thrill, including an illustrated icon of the two brothers as acrobats in action alongside the new name we created, Sweet Fantasy Brothers (SFB).
